The Ecodaily: the next generation of the transporters of Iveco

With the introduction of the Ecodaily the transporter offer is adapted starting from October of this yearly to the obligatory exhaust standards of the European Union by Iveco on the one hand, supplemented on the other hand around new engine variants. Beside the well-known models with 3,2 to 6,5& t of permissible total mass (zGM) becomes it in the future this light truck also with 7,0& t zGM give. With it around 470& kg on maximally 4,7& t increased pay load advanced the transporter of Iveco into regions, which were reserved so far the traditional 7,5-Tonner. Outwardly the new Iveco transporter essentially differs by a changed radiator grille. The instrument panel was arranged completely new.

Ecodaily: Euro-5/EEV, CNG and „ a zero emission \ " Vehicle also electric drive for the new Ecodaily offers four drives to Iveco: a new 3,0-l-Motor in the performance levels 103 and 125& KW (140 and 170& HP), the proven 3,0-l-CNG-Motor with 100& KW (136& HP) and purely an electric drive. All these drives correspond to the guideline euro 5 and/or EEV.
The new 3,0-l-Dieselmotor has two-stage turbocharger, recycling of exhaust gases and Diesel particle filter. The vehicles with CNG engine receive a small gasoline tank, which permits it to start if need be surely and in any case the next natural gas gas station. Engine performance becomes thereby from 100 KW (136 HP) on 60& KW (82& HP) reduces.
The electric drive becomes for the models 35 S (einzelbereifte box cars, combination and plank bed cars) as well as 50 C (box and plank bed cars with dual-tire rear axle) offered. The three-phase synchronous engine is steered over a direct current/an alternating current inverter and by NaNiCl2 batteries (Zebra system) with a rated voltage of 278& V with river supplies. The electrical Ecodaily reached load and operationally depending upon number of the installed batteries and the topography at a maximum speed of 70& km/h ranges between 90 and 130& km in the stop and go mode. That is far more than the typical average daily performance in distributor traffic in the city with many starts and stops. The weight of the batteries was in the past the largest problem for electrical claimant vehicles. With the electrical Ecodaily Iveco developed vehicle, which is heavier with two batteries only 300 kg than the appropriate Diesel version.
There are two engine versions: 30 KW of rated output (60 KW of maximum performance) for the model 35 S (3,5& t zGM) and 40 KW of rated output (80 KW of maximum performance) for the model 50 C (5,2& t& zGM). In the instrument carrier a display is installed, which supplies the necessary information for the correct trip with the vehicle to the driver with: Charge, tension, battery temperature, river of the batteries and data concerning the driving conditions of the electrical drive system.
The vehicle is driven similarly as a vehicle with automatic transmission, as the courses with a lever are inserted: D = drive, N = neutral and R = reverse gear. The speed control is steered by the drive inverter via the manipulation of gas and brake pedal and regarding the current driving conditions. The electrical DAILY one can with fully used total mass upward gradients to 18& % concern. The maximum speed is electronic in favor of higher assignments with 70& km/h abgeregelt. The vehicle adapts perfectly to the normal driving and duty cycles in city traffic. For the very good acceleration values a characteristic in principle of the electric motors provides: They produce their maximum torque when starting.
Security, comfort and all DAILY one and Ecodaily have in series ESP, ABS, ASR, HBA and Hill Holder. The system LAC registers mass and emphasis changes of the vehicle in the longitudinal axis and adapts the safety systems dynamically. In this way braking and stability are altogether improved: Not only the risk of lateral tilting is reduced, but also the wear of the brakes is distributed evenly by the cooperation of the systems, which extends the interval between the surface changes altogether. The instrument panel was revised in materials and colors thoroughly and contains beside new control elements with the CNG models now also a similar announcement for natural gas supply with integrated control lights for contents of the small gasoline tank.
The numerous files in the driving cab were again arranged. Additionally to the subjects in the doors, the instrument panel and in the roof sky the vehicle under the optional passenger seat bank possesses a shelf with a capacity of six litres.
