how much sponge cake mix would I need to fill a 14" square cake pan, 3" deep?

Question: I need to bake a 14" square cake, but are struggling with how to work out how much ingredients I need. Can anyone help.


Answer: A square 14 x 3 inch pan takes 19 cups of batter.
A regular recipe, (for 2, 8" layers) is 5 1/2 cups of batter.
One cake mix is also 5 1/2 cups of batter.
If you took your regular cake recipe and increased it by 3, you would have 19 1/4 cups of batter.


You are looking at 6oz Sugar, 6oz Marge, 3 large aggs, 6oz SR flour. I wolud bake it in 2 sittings so I doesnt under cook, the mixture will keep while the first one cooks!!
