Halloween is almost here, but not every little one has the chance to trick-or-treat.
YNN is partnering with the Travis County Sheriffâs Office to help some special children at the Austin Childrenâs Shelter. The sheriffâs Explorer program helps kids who canât trick-or-treat in neighborhoods get the Halloween experience, and of course, the candy.
With some Halloween helpers, the neighborhood experienceâcomplete with plenty of ghoulish decorations and haunting décorâis created in the halls of the Austin Childrenâs Shelter. Kids from Helping Hands Home and Safe Place also join in on the fun.
Over the next 10 days, YNN is hosting a station-wide candy drive to make sure all the participants have plenty to munch on come Oct. 31.
Join YNN in by donating your own candy to the Travis County Sheriffâs Office.
If you would like to help, candy, costumes or monetary donations can be made to the Travis County Sheriff's Office on Oct.15 15 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. at 5555 Airport Boulevard.
