Dover-Sherborn Community Education offers holiday classes

Dover Sherborn Community Education is thinking about the holiday season. Check out these classes and learn something new and fun.

Tuesday, Dec. 11, 6-9 p.m. — Buche de Noel with Chef Edgar Ievins. Chef Edgar will teach you how to create the traditional French Christmas cake, Buche de Noel, commonly know as the Yule Log. Starting from scratch, learn how to make the chocolate sponge cake (genoise) along with an assortment of rich and delicious fillings. Edgar will provide tips from start to finish. This course is recommended for anyone who would like to practice their basic cake-making skills. If you’ve ever taken one of Chef Edgar’s classes, you know that you never go away hungry. Fee: $60. Class will be held at the Dover-Sherborn High School, Room 108. All materials are included.

Monday, Dec. 3, 6:30-8 p.m. — Holiday Boxwood Tree. Craft this special holiday decoration with Vicki Lamont. Vicki will help you with all the tricks in designing a boxwood tree that will last, with watering throughout the holidays. Your tree will be approximately 12-by-22 inches in a container for you to take home and decorate with lights, pinecones, bows or ornaments. The choice is yours. They also make wonderful gifts. Fee: $75. Class will be held at the Dover-Sherborn Middle School, Room 122. All materials are included.
