A large crowd was on hand for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl's official luncheon honoring the two football teams Friday at the Marriott, but even UL and East Carolina had to take a back seat to one of the banquet's honorees.

Former LSU standout Chad Jones, whose career looked to be over after ankle and leg injuries in a horrific auto accident over two years ago, was honored by the bowl for his comeback efforts. The former defensive back and baseball standout has been working with physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists since his June 2010 accident, and physical therapist John Moran said he is trying to schedule a private workout with the New Orleans Saints.

Jones has been cleared for unlimited workouts, even though the New York Giants — who drafted him in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft — released him earlier this year.

Also featured during the banquet was guest speaker and Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, who said his two-decade professional football career doesn't measure up to the excitement of guiding Washington into the 1978 Rose Bowl.

After I placed my order, they emailed me to ask if I’d be willing to take a set of the cookware that was in an opened box, at a 40% discount. After assuring me that the cookware had never been used, I agreed. When I unpacked the cookware, I discovered that it was only 9 instead of 10 pieces, that is, it was missing the lid to the smaller of the two saucepans. I immediately sent an email to Lafraise and within minutes I had a response saying that they would search for the missing lid and if unfound, would send me a new one from their warehouse. The new one did indeed arrive today via overnight delivery. I’m very impressed with their customer service.

I and my wife were travelling to Canada last year, there was a specialty store selling cookware and kitchen appliances right outside London Drugs. They have both All-clad and Duxtop cookware on display. My wife had been wanting an All-clad cookware set for a long time. But for the 15 mins we spent in the store we kinda of wondering which one is a better buy. Allclad is definitely worth every penny you spend on it. The duxtop set … we just couldn’t find anything second to Allclad quality wise. There are a few features of duxtop we actually think win over allclad. The drip-free pouring rims on duxtop, you did not find it on all clad. The handle of duxtop felt more comfortable. Both of the handles were made of stainless steel. All clad handle was designed for easy grip, but they have only a thin layer of steel. Duxtop’s handles use more steel, and it definitely made some difference and we both felt it helped to keep balance. We both liked duxtop more but decided to do more research before purchasing. Neither all clad or duxtop were cheap. We are so glad Amazon has duxtop cookware on sale. They replaced our 4 year old stainless steel cookware and we are very satisfied with the product....

Its funny to watch the technology of cooking appliances because if there is one problem that people have whenever they are cooking, people will figure out a way to fix it and make some money off of it. This is a good idea though because i know in my few times ever cooking i have always had trouble with stirring the ingredients, but in the end this really is not needed
