There is no doubt that she's one of 2012's breakout musicians.

However, without her standout style it is questionable whether Rita Ora would have come as far as she has today in the industry. Lying back wearing nothing but a tuxedo jacket, the 22-year-old told Harper's Bazaar that when it comes to her wardrobe she's not afraid to mix things up.

Wearing a white trouser suit by Alexander McQueen, Rita stuns in a stunning portrait featured in the January issue of the publication as she wears a coating of scarlet lipstick. Showing off her peroxidefree natural locks, Rita holds her hand to her chest as she gazes at the photographer while sporting jewellery by Maison Martin Margiela.

Speaking about her style, Rita told the fashion magazine: “I'm a boy girl. I love my trainers and mixing comfort with sleek, clean lines.I love flamboyancy and glamour and elegance. I love that over-exaggerated style.”

In the second image, Rita shows of her enviable figure in an elegant optical illusion white jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. Holding one hand to her head as she cuts a seductive figure, the Yugoslaviaborn star shows off the inkings on her inner arms.

Kids' (free!) music download of the week: Kira Willey's The Mixing Bowl Though it is always about 100 times messier when my kids want to help in the kitchen, I've always loved their help. And since this is great cookie-baking weather, I've found a sweet little tune to play while we get busy stirring, taste-testing and, of course, cleaning up.

 

With a lovely, somewhat breathy voice, pretty harmonies, and guitar picking along with the melody, Kira Willey's The Mixing Bowl  has a chorus that will run round and round your head for a long time. And that's not a bad thing.

And that can only mean it's time for the annual pairing of Don Wright Faculty of Music with Windermere Manor to present a three-course gourmet dinner followed by the operetta performed by students that guarantees to deliver laughs and lots of wacky fun plus unexpected twists and turns.

"It's one of my favorite operas that I've had the chance to do several times," said director Theodore Baerg, who has performed the piece in New York, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto.

In fact, he met his wife, Irina, when she was playing the female lead, Rosalinda, and he the male lead, Gabriel von Eisenstein.

This is Baerg's second time directing the operetta.

"It's an operetta and it's fun for the audience," Baerg said. "It's just silly, pure entertainment."

More importantly, said Baerg, it's accessible for everyone, including newcomers to the genre.

"It reflects what could happen in real situations and it's performed in real time."

The action includes "seduction, hilarity and betrayal -- with lots of singing and dancing," Baerg said, adding that about 40 students take turns in the lead roles, alternating performances, backed by a 34-piece orchestra with music director Geoffrey Moull conducting.
